This blog is about the food that I eat. Why would anyone care what I eat? They probably don’t, but I could blither blather about food-related topics all day. My friends and family love me in spite of this. But, I thought it was high time I gave them all a break by blithering and blathering in a different forum. So food blogging it is.
You should know a little bit more about me, before you decide whether you want to continue reading Made By Jill (please continue, I like you already).
Let’s start with the biggie- I’m a vegan. Isn’t it unusual to meet a vegan who is obsessed with food ?
I may not get points for originality, but perhaps you’ll read on anyhow.
I’m into “alternative” junk food. Not to say that I don’t eat regular junk food, but my food hang-overs are less intense when I eat the stuff marketed to health nuts. Ever wonder who actually orders the spelt-crust, cheese-less pizza? The gluten-free, dairy-free muffin? The brownie sweetened with agave? Well, now you know.
I’m also pretty hardcore about the quality of food I eat. Which basically means that I like to eat things that actually grew in the ground, or things made with ingredients I can pronounce. I used to eat a lot of processed crap, but a few years ago I realized that real food tastes better. It was a real “a-ha” moment.
Since I discovered that it is (gasp) actually possible to make most things sold in packages, I’ve become a real do-it-yourself-er in the kitchen. This has had both tremendous and catastrophic results. I hereby solemnly promise to blog it all for your entertainment.
